A step by step video recipe guide to serve approximately 3 to 4 people:

INGREDIENTS REQUIRED (which you can adjust according to taste):

200 grams of de-husked (yellow) Moong Dal.

5 teaspoons of Vegetable Oil (Tel)

1 medium sized Onion (Dungri) – roughly chopped

1 teaspoon of very finely chopped Ginger (Adrak)

One teaspoon of very finely chopped Garlic (Lasan)

1/2 a teaspoon of homemade Garam Masala

Approximately 3/4 teaspoon (or to taste) of Salt (Namak)

1/2 a teaspoon of Turmeric.

OPTIONAL :
If you prefer it hotter: you can add 1/2 teaspoon of Red Chilli Powder (Lal Mirchu)

We suggest that you serve it with Chapati and a Poppadom then with either a Tomato & Onion Chutney, Mango Pickle or Chopped Red Onion.

Street food can be delicious & fun but you occasionally need a dish like this to maintain a healthy balance in your diet.

(Please note that the Yellow Mung Dal is the Mung Bean that has been stripped of its green skin and split).
