Today we are going to take some very special ingredients straight from my garden: Lavender and Lemon Balm. Lemon Balm is extra special to me for many reasons but especially because it’s named after me (Melissa officinalis). You can juice the leaves, stems and flowering tops of the lavender plant and you can juice the leaves and flowering tops of the lemon balm plant.
Lavender’s healing properties are known as a nervous system tonic, for depression, stress and tension headaches. Lemon balm healing properties include nerve relaxant and it is also good for anxiety and stress.
If you are pregnant avoid large doses of lavender because it is a uterine stimulant.
Other anti-anxiety juicing vegetables include broccoli, carrots, celery, fennel, leafy greens and watercress.
Remember some of the best things you can do for anxiety is to practice yoga and meditate and we have tons of yoga and meditation available on my website. Also cut back or eliminate caffeine, alcohol, refined flours and sugars as well as artificial food additives which cause a lot of stress on your body and add to the anxiety you experience.
